Gerringong
The epicentre of Gerringong is Werri Beach
Set on a spit and bordered by Werri Gully on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Just South of Gerringong is Seven Mile Beach, which is a favourite for joggers, beach cyclists and the local surf schools. Surrounded by wineries, this is also foodie heaven with fine dining, fish and chips, and a local brewery.
Lifestyle
Gerringong isn’t large, with a population of around 4,000, but what it lacks in size it makes us for in community spirit. Perched on a headland, the seaside town contains some of the best waves on the South Coast for surfing, award winning dining and unique retail offering. A popular spot for high-end holiday rentals and wedding guests due to its proximity to local wineries.
Getting around
Less than a two-hour drive from Sydney to Gerringong along the Grand Pacific Drive, a lot of Gerringong locals also work in Kiama, Nowra or Wollongong, as well as studying at Wollongong University. Or take a three-hour coastal train journey to Gerringong from Sydney’s Central Station.
